Amateur UFC Fighter Jose Espinoza-Espinoza Arrested For Attempted Murder

An amateur UFC fighter, by the name of Jose Espinoza-Espinoza, has been suspected of trying to commit murder.

According to reports, the authorities had arrived at a house that was based on Elgin Court on September 9th, 2023 at 3:30 p.m.

It is alleged that there was a disturbance at a family home. Then it came to light that Espinoza had been arguing with a woman. Thereafter, it is alleged that Espinoza had taken the woman by the throat as things got out of hand. 

As a result, Espinoza was charged with attempted murder, kidnapping and assault on September 11th, 2023, as further charges could follow. In response, this is what the authorities had to say.

“The victim said at one point, she briefly lost consciousness. The victim said Espinoza-Espinoza, who is an amateur mixed martial arts fighter and a boxer, also violently shook her causing her to hit her head on a parked vehicle and threw her down causing her to hit her head on the side of the house. The victim said Espinoza-Espinoza attempted to drag her into the home, but she was able to escape and ran to a neighboring home to get help. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries. It was determined she suffered serious bodily injury,” Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office

The news also follows the recent apprehension of another UFC fighter by the name of Khusein Askhabov. Reports stressed that the fighter had been apprehended after kidnapping and torturing an Italian man in Thailand on September 5th, 2023, at his villa. 

It is claimed that Askhabov, his brother and an accomplice did the attack. Some of the items alleged to have been stolen included cash, jewellery, watches and more than $43,000 in cash. 

As a result, Askhabov’s upcoming fight with Daniel Pineda on October 7th, 2023, was called off.

“UFC is aware of the recent arrest and allegations regarding Khusein Askhabov. The organization will continue to gather additional details regarding the incident. UFC will allow the legal process to play out before making any additional statements, however, his scheduled fight on October 7 has been canceled,” UFC
